Lydia Crawford has lived and worked around domestic animals and birds for very many years, although her special interest has always been with dogs. She currently lives with Sidney and Freddie, two Labrador Retrievers, Jack, an African Grey parrot and Percine, a cockatiel. Lydia says: “All these wonderful creatures were rescue animals. I am delighted with the special relationship which has developed between us and can hardly believe my good fortune.” In 2001, she completed a two-year course with the International Dog Trainers' School, run by Scallywags Canine Education Centre (now called Sheila Harper CEC) where she learned from such world-renowned dog trainers and behaviourists as Norway's Turid Rugaas, Allan Bauman of the USA and Sheila Harper, herself. The course gave her a greater insight into dealing with stress levels in our animals and a better understanding of how to read and respond to their body language. Lydia has brought that knowledge, and consequently her own personal style of training, to her pet-dog training school in Whetstone, North London. Lydia has a Certificate in Veterinary Homeopathy from The British Institute of Homeopathy. |
