Without doubt, the very best present you will ever give your puppy, is to socialise him/her.

Research has shown that, from the age of 3 - 4 weeks, puppies are already capable of learning from the many experiences they encounter, and the socialisation and habituation process should have begun at this point, if a puppy has come from a reputable source.

The more pleasant and new experiences the puppy encounters, up to the age of 12 - 14 weeks, the more likely it is to develop into a well-adjusted adult. Socialisation becomes progressively more difficult after this time.
